FAQ

All children are eligible to register and attend Fontaine de l'Amitié daycare regardless of their religion, race, culture, gender and disability. Before the child is admitted to the center, the supervisor of the center invites the family to an orientation. Orientation includes a tour of our premises, meeting the child, and also discussing the policies and procedures of the daycare program. Each parent who registers their child in our center receives a copy of the "Parent Guide" which contains the program statement and the center’s policies and procedures. All parents must read this guide and sign the “Service agreement between parent and La Fontaine de l'Amitié” form found at the end of the document and give a copy to the supervisor of the center Registration forms must be completed and signed by parents or guardians and returned to supervisor before the child's admission. Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability. If space is limited, the children's names will be placed on a waiting list.

An annual registration fee, payable just once, of $ 35 per family for the first child, plus $ 10 for each additional child is normally payable in June or upon registration of the child. These fees are non-refundable. If the child leaves the daycare and wishes to return after a few weeks or months, he will have to re-register and pay the registration fee of $ 35.

The Peel Regional Municipality is offering child care subsidy to families with children aged 0-12 years. Please visit the website for more details: http://peelregion.ca/children/apply-for-subsidy/

Child care costs payable by parents registered with the center are the most important source of income for the organization, and these monthly charges must cover all operating expenses and payments on any loan the center may have. In addition, the center needs sufficient revenue for its proper functioning, to compensate for the unexpected and to ensure the long-term financial viability of the organization.

The daycare requires a deposit upon the child's registration and the amount is half of the monthly childcare fees. This applies to every family. This deposit acts as insurance and will be refundable only if the child is removed from the program with one month's written notice. All parents who decide to permanently remove their child from the daycare must inform the daycare management in writing, at least one month before the departure date. Otherwise, the deposit will be retained.
Tous les parents qui décident retirer leur enfant de la garderie de façon permanente doivent en informer la direction de la garderie par écrit, au moins un mois avant la date de départ. Sinon, le dépôt sera retenu.

When parents or guardians of the next child on the waiting list wish to have a part-time place, it will only be granted if it is possible to find a complementary place with another part-time child at the same time. If it is not possible to complete the place, a full-time position will be offered. In case of refusal by the parents or guardians, the place will be offered to the parents or guardians of the next child on the waiting list. The following conditions must also be met with respect to part-time enrolment:

> The schedule of part-time children must be complementary. For example, a part-time place in preschool that includes a child who comes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday is complementary with another part-time child who comes on Tuesday and Thursday.
> To preserve the quality of the educational programonly registrations at 2 or 3 days / weeks will be accepted. It is generally accepted that a registration 1 day / week does not allow sufficient integration into the educational program, this option will no longer be available as well as the additional option 4 days / week.
> If a part-time child is removed from the daycarethe place will then have to be filled by another part-time child in order to supplement the place of the remaining part-time child. If this position can not be filled, parents or guardians of the remaining part-time child will be offered full-time status. In the event of a parent or guardian's refusal, the remaining child will have to leave the daycare after his parents or guardians have received at least 30 days' notice if the parents or guardians of another child on the waiting list can fill the place full time.
